  • Self-healing air-insulated structure

        The innovative "five positions in one" fixed switch architecture of the XGN99-12 switchgear, based on a uniform electric field, is a self-healing air-insulated structure with vacuum extinction feature, which can prevent the risk of SF6 leak under pressure. With maintenance-free and long-life design, it is a piece of "excellent equipment" for the construction and transformation of a "solid grid" in the distribution network.

 

  • Innovative atmospheric GIS air-insulated sealed enclosure

        The XGN99-12 switchgear is equipped with the innovative atmospheric GIS air-insulated sealed enclosure. Vacuum interrupter components, three-position isolation/grounding switches, horizontal busbars, incoming busbars and other main conductors are installed in the sealed enclosure to keep dust, pollution, and humid air in the operating environment of the distribution network away from the equipment, effectively mitigating the corrosion of the power supply equipment and preventing flashover and other faults caused by pollution and humidity. Good environmental adaptability ensures the stable and effective operation of the product insulation system during the life cycle. It uses an atmospheric air drying mode to avoid the risk of leak generally occurring in conventional air enclosures under pressure. It is suitable for the secondary distribution equipment and end-user equipment in the distribution networks in China subject to complex and harsh operating environment and without professional power management and maintenance personnel. 

 

  • Innovative high-reliability split circuit breaker/three-position switch operating mechanism

        The XGN99-12 is designed with innovative high-reliability and simple split circuit breaker. The isolation/grounding three-position switch operating mechanism is separately installed outside the sealed enclosure to facilitate replacement and upgrading. The high-reliability design of SCR is a complete solution to up to 90% of faults in traditional circuit breaker switchgears.

        Being only 1/5 of the traditional circuit breaker cabinet KYN in volume and 1/4 in footprint, it is long-life and maintenance-free and significantly reduces the space required for maintenance and operation. Based on technical specifications for maintenance-free products, it can be installed against the wall to reduce the space required for operation. It brings outstanding economic and social benefits and can help reduce the comprehensive cost of the power distribution housing by more than 50%. 

 

  • Highly reliable, long-life and maintenance-free

        With a fixed self-healing air-insulated switch structure and with five positions, it can avoid short-circuit explosion between phases due to air-insulated large creepage distance, multiple safety margins and isolation by phases. It meets the State Grid's 40-year service life requirement of the "full life cycle management" for modern power distribution networks. It has a full range of circuit breaker functions and can isolate faults with the relay protection device. There is no protection method of fuse-composite apparatus or the need to replace the fuse on site, which shortens the power outage time and saves the maintenance cost of replacing the fuse on site. It is suitable for a bidirectional energy flow control and protection mode of distributed smart grids.
